ABOUT US
Henton & District Gardening Club, founded in 1999, is now a voluntary, educational institution with the purpose of providing a focus and venue for those interested in improving and extending learning about gardens and gardening. Our membership is principally drawn from the villages of Henton, Bleadney, Yarley and Wookey, including the City of Wells, Somerset. |
Henton Hall provides a warm, modern venue for talks and events throughout the year including presentations from experts in their field who enthusiastically share their knowledge with members. We have enjoyed inspirational talks from speakers such as Fergus Garrett of Great Dixter, Derry Watkins of Special Plants near Bath, as well as speakers on specialised subjects such as the Gardens of the Alhambra, and more recently, the life of Marianne North whose paintings line the walls of a dedicated building in Kew Gardens.
Outings are organised for interested members and their friends to visit gardens near and sometimes, quite far away. The atmosphere is always relaxed and enthusiastic, and quite often includes a jolly good lunch too! We hope to return to these outings as soon as conditions permit.
